Bowmore 1983 27 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bowmore 1983 27 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky – a very rare Bowmore, matured for 27 years in a single sherry hogshead cask and bottled at cask strength in 2011. It was laid down in the legendary No. 1 Vaults Warehouse at the Bowmore distillery. As in the old days, the bottles were sealed with black wax.
Only 107 bottles of this whisky were produced and they were only offered as travel retail exclusives. This is therefore a real collector’s rarity.
The Bowmore distillery was founded as early as 1779 on the Scottish island of Islay and produces, among other things, the famous Black Bowmore – a particularly popular rarity among whiskies. The peaty environment together with storage in warehouses, some of which are surrounded by 1.5 metres of salt water at high tide, give Bowmore its very own characteristics.
