Bowmore 1972 27 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Bowmore 1972 27 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky – one of only 466 bottles filled from former bourbon casks 4864, 4865 and 4866, laid down to mature below sea level in the famous Warehouse No. 1 of the Bowmore distillery. It was bottled 27 years later by Islay Campbell, Bowmore’s manager.

The copper and bronze coloured packaging harks back to the autumnal day on 16thOctober 1972 when this whisky was distilled. It has a warm, mellow flavour with lots of ripe oak aromas.

The Bowmore distillery was founded as early as 1779 on the Scottish island of Islay and produces, among other things, the famous Black Bowmore – a particularly popular rarity among whiskies. The peaty environment together with storage in warehouses, some of which are surrounded by 1.5 metres of salt water at high tide, give Bowmore its very own characteristics.
