Willett Family Estate 17 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey: This bottle comes from hand selected white oak barrel number 58 and has an alcohol content of 69.1% ABV or 138.2 proof. It is one of only 108 bottlings from this high-proof cask.
The distillery is located in Bardstown, Kentucky. The first Willet distillery opened back in 1963 following the end of Prohibition, but was forced to end its operations during the bourbon crisis of the 1980s. It resumed operations in 2012 and has been marketing its whiskeys worldwide since then. They include the “Family Estate”, “Noah’s Mill” and “Rowan’s Creek” varieties. The old bottlings from the original stock in particular, are very popular with collectors.
