Ron Zacapa XO Centenario (Old Bottling)
Ron Zacapa Centenario XO (Old Bottling) consists of up to 30-year-old rums from different oak casks, which have been matured using the solera method. The rum was subsequently finished in “Le Bois du Roy” oak casks which are sourced from strictly protected oak wood from the royal French forests.
This is an old bottling in a flat glass decanter, which is now mostly out of stock due to its popularity. The old bottling is recognisable because the designation “Solera” is still missing. It received numerous awards, which means that it is highly popular.
The taste of Ron Zacapa XO can be described as having a very strong character. Its colour is reminiscent of noble mahogany wood.
Ron Zacapa is owned equally by Industries Licoreras de Guatemala and Diageo, one of the largest spirit producers in the world. Zacapa Rum matures in the mountains at an altitude of over 2,000 metres and is stored in burnt-out bourbon oak casks. This is followed by a short period laid down in Spanish sherry casks, which gives the rum its special flavour.
