Selling whisky online: Easy, secure & reliable
We buy new and old whiskies and spirits from private stocks all year round. We offer to buy entire collections as well as individual bottles.
In order to accurately assess the price of your whiskies, all we need are photographs that show your bottles in their entirety.
Important: Please do not photograph your whiskies on their sides, because it will not be possible to view the fill level. Please place bottles and packaging upright and next to each other on a table and photograph them.
Simply send the photos of your bottles by email to:
info@spirituosen-ankauf.de

Here we answer the most frequently asked questions about buying whisky:
What details are required for valuing my whisky collection?
To assess your whiskies, we only need the following information from you:
-
- Photos on which your bottles can be viewed in full and
- A list of the photographed bottles.
You do not need to photograph each bottle individually. A collective picture is sufficient, provided that they are fully recognisable.
On this basis, we can evaluate and appraise your whiskies and then make you an offer.
What factors influence the buying prices?
The buying prices are based on the following factors, among others:
- The respective producer of the bottle/distillery,
- the fill level in the bottle,
- the cask maturity (e.g. 12 years/18 years or similar),
- the vintage,
- the state of the label and the capsule as well as
- the outer packaging.
Bottles with low fill levels and labels with fungal growth or heavy water stains reduce the value. Optimally, the fill level of your whiskies should be in the neck of the bottle (“into the neck”). The labels and capsules should preferably be undamaged.
We assume proper storage. Your bottles should have always been stored upright and NOT on their sides.
Even if the condition of your whiskies is not perfect, you can still offer them to us. We will endeavour to offer you the best possible price, even in such cases.
What reduces the value of a bottle of whisky?
Whiskies with a low fill level, damaged or soiled labels and missing or damaged packaging will be of reduced value.
Even if the condition of your bottles is not perfect, you can still offer them to us. We will endeavour to offer you the best possible price, even in such cases.
We unfortunately cannot buy already opened bottles.
Do you also buy already opened whisky bottles?
No, we unfortunately cannot buy already opened bottles of whisky.
How should my whiskies have been stored?
Your bottles should always have been stored standing up and NOT lying down, at a constant room or cellar temperature. Where possible, your whiskies should be protected from light or sunlight.
A well-known online shop sells my bottle at a very high price. Is this bottle really worth so much?
The bottle prices that well-known online shops quote on their platforms sometimes differ considerably from their actual values. These prices are often used to attract potential customers to the shop. As a rule, such expensive fakes are not actually sold at these prices.
The actual value of a bottle is based on the current relationship between supply and demand. This relationship is sometimes subject to daily fluctuations.
What are my whiskies worth?
The actual value of a bottle is based on the current relationship between supply and demand. This relationship is sometimes subject to daily fluctuations. Accordingly, we determine the buying prices on a daily basis.
The value is based on
- The respective producer of the bottle/distillery,
- the fill level in the bottle,
- the cask maturity (e.g. 12 years/18 years or similar),
- the vintage,
- the state of the label and the capsule as well as
- the outer packaging.
The following rule does not automatically apply here: The older they are, the more valuable they become. The spirit maturation process stops immediately after it is transferred from the cask to the bottle. They therefore mature exclusively in the oak casks and not subsequently in the glass bottle.
Most collectors of high-quality whiskies concentrate on vintage bottlings from renowned single malt Scotch whisky distilleries (e.g. Macallan, Bowmore or Port Ellen). However, some American whiskeys also enjoy great popularity among collectors and have a correspondingly high value.
Every bottle of whisky has a certain collector’s value and will find a buyer, so feel free to offer us any of your whiskys.
